Check out this great tutorial on making your own words using rope or jute on Green Wedding Shoes Blog.( http://greenweddingshoes.com/diy-rope-words-for-your-wedding-day/) Use this technique for the back of the chairs at your sweetheart table, or for a great photo op or even for unique table numbers for the reception. And why just use rope? We think this would work with braided upholstery cord for a less rustic look as well.

Initally, Sarah hired me to create her budget and offer her vendor recommendations. Little did we know, a couple of months later, we would be doing her flowers and reception decor. Sarah had great vision of what she wanted, and she picked a great time of year, allowing the flowers that she wanted be at their peak. I am really glad that she decided to include us on such an important element of her wedding and we were able to make her vision come to life.
On to the pictures.

Looking for something different and eco-friendly for your wedding florals? How about succulents? These water-retaining plants are recognizable by the swollen appearance of their leaves. The most well-known succulents are cacti but, although almost all cacti are succulents, all succulents are not cacti! Some of the appealing characteristics of succulents include that they require little water, they can be re-potted after your wedding for other uses and they come in a variety of vibrant colors. (Check out this site to see tons of photos of the variety of plants: http://www.succulent-plant.com/thumbnails.html).

Looking for something that is not only different for your wedding but that will last for generations? If you have been looking at wedding details lately, you have probably already seen some beautiful brooch bouquets. These bouquets are not only lovely, they are eco-friendly and can contain very personal details. Brides can use brooches passed down from family members or brooches they find that commemorate certain interests, hobbies or places important to them or their groom. (Include something old and blue and you can knock two things off your list!) Instead of hoping your future daughter will want to wear your wedding dress, you can be fairly confident she will want to carry your brooch bouquet! And, it won’t have to be altered or redesigned because it is dated!
Of course, we at Southern Event Planners love them just because they are so gorgeous and fun to put together ! Here is a brooch that we did recently for a bride:

How many times have you worn high heels, or even not so high heels, to an outdoor event and had to dig yourself out of the grass? Well, dig no more! Some very inventive ladies have come up with the solution! SoulMates are small, almost invisible caps that go over the heel of the shoe to provide greater surface area on the base of the shoe heel therefore, keeping it from sinking in to the grass or getting caught in a crack in the sidewalk.
What a great, considerate gift for your Bridesmaids! Order online at http://thesolemates.com/our-products/. Right now they are featuring a 10% discount when you order 10 or more pair. SoulMates are also available locally, check out their website for store listings.

Jessica and Dillon had a beautiful wedding! They definitely had a unique style and it really showed through the little details.
They both love antiques, and they started collecting different vases to be used as centerpieces for their guest tables. We had no problem using their containers – it added that personal touch to the reception. Each table had a different centerpiece with a different combination of flowers. Jessica didn’t like the “matchy matchy” look, but she wanted a cohesive design.
Their photographer was special because she had actually shot Jessica’s sister’s wedding three years earlier in Florida. Deb was such a pleasure to work with and she got some great photos.
