A few months ago, we were contacted by the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation™ to help host the Brides Against Breast Cancer Tour of Gowns Sale. We were thrilled to participate because this is such a great cause. The Foundation raises money to help grant wishes to Stage IV Breast Cancer patients.

We were honored to help put together a birthday party a few months ago for Coral, a local patient. We actually got to see the end result of everyone’s donations and hard work, and to meet such a wonderful woman like Coral just made us even more pumped to help with the gown sale!

The Brides Against Breast Cancer Tour of Gowns Sale will stop in Memphis the weekend of May 28th at Esplanade in Cordova. So what does this mean for our local brides? Discounted wedding dresses!

The sale will feature donated gowns from designers, bridal shops, and even brides! The dresses are discounted, and every cent that is made from the gown sale will go to the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation™. That means YOU will help grant wishes to Stage IV Breast Cancer patients.

To kick off the sale, we’re having a VIP Night! There will be a fashion show, fun music, a lounge area with food and drinks, and swag bags full of great vendor info and goodies! We will also have an area set up so you can meet some local wedding vendors and ask questions.

Tickets for the VIP Night are only $25 per bride and $15 for each additional guest. Admission will not be charged for Saturday or Sunday, but remember, since these are donated gowns, there may be only a few sizes available in certain designs! After months of pouring through magazines and visiting every bridal store in a 300 mile radius (or more) you finally found the dress.

Your wedding day finally arrived: you had your hair and makeup professionally done,  pretended you were a supermodel in those great “non-posed” photos, got married, did your first dance all in the dress.

So here you are after the wedding, weeks, months, maybe years later and you still have the dress. Some of you may still put it on and dance around the house when hubby isn’t home (ahhhhh “the memories of the way we were”), while others had it cleaned and preserved when they returned from the honeymoon. Then there are those of you that have it in a bag in the hall closet with the two extra bread makers you got as a wedding present that you have been meaning to return… 

Well ladies, I have the perfect solution. Those of you who are going green will love this. Donate the dress for a good cause.

There is a great organization called the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation. The foundation helps grant wishes to women and men with Metastatic Stage 4 terminal breast cancer. When you donate your wedding gown to Brides Against Breast Cancer, they resell the gown and the proceeds go to granting the wish of a breast cancer patient.

Can you think of anything that could serve a better purpose? You get a tax deduction, you recycled fashion, and helped another bride have a fabulous dress for a reasonable price – not to mention you are saving the overworked silkworms, all the while making  a wish come true for a special person.

You may have already heard Ramblin Rose Photography is opening a new studio. An open house is planned for March 31, from 6 – 9 p.m., open to the public. The studio is located at 7505 Appling Center Drive, Suite 112 Bartlett, TN. Kim Miller, the owner, was interviewed in the Bartlett Express recently about the new studio. We are so excited to see one of our fellow wedding vendors expanding their business. I have always had a strong working relationship with Kim and feel especially close to her since we both started out the same way and seen our businesses blossom and shine. We have done lots and lots of weddings together over the years and lo0k forward to many more to come.
