Angela Dacus – Owner and Wedding Planner

Growing up in Memphis, Angela always had a unique sense of self and a determined spirit. That determination helped to drive her through her very diverse college life. Starting out as an Interior Design major, she finished her college career as a Finance major with minors in Law and Art. In 1998, she began to develop her business plan for Southern Event Planners. After doing weddings for friends and family, along with continuing her education in the wedding business she decided to hang out her shingle. 

Emerging into the wedding world as a trained professional, Angela has cultivated her passion for art and design. Her weddings have been featured in Southern Bride Magazine, WHBQ Channel 13, and At Home in Memphis. Angela is a consulted wedding expert by such companies as The Commercial Appeal, The Wedding Register, Southern Bride Magazine, Elite Memphis Magazine, WeddingChannel.com, WHBQ Channel 13, WREG Channel 3, and 107.5 The Pig.

Because of her passion and undying determination, Southern Event Planners is known for establishing wedding trends with a modern perspective on classical wedding elements. That has helped Southern Event Planners emerge as the planner of choice for discerning and style savvy brides.

Kelly – Wedding Planner, Crafts Extraordinaire

Kelly’s background in Bridal Design and Merchandising brings a fresh perspective to Southern Event Planners approach to design. A welcome full time addition in 2003, Kelly has worked part time off and on planning and directing weddings since our beginning.  She is the also the onsite day of coordinator for Le Pavillon, assisting brides with their wedding plans and directing their ceremony and reception.

The care she contributes to ensuring the bride has a worry free day is unmatchable. Kelly’s upbeat friendly personality along with her expertise in customer relations makes her an invaluable asset to our team. Kelly handles all aspects of the wedding for the bride. She has a great eye for design creation and implementation. In addition to being a wedding planner, Kelly assists in the day to day operations of our sister company, Unique Event Rentals.

Kelly is such a joy to work with and is 110% a team player. We are very lucky to have her on board.

Stacy – Office and Event Assistant, Web-Mistress

Stacy is a somewhat recent addition to our wedding planning family. She is a graduate from the University of Memphis, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration with a degree in Marketing Management. Stacy helps with the upkeep of the office, works in the retail store, assists on events, and is starting to utilize her college degree. She helps with web-site problems and creates graphics for our blog and web-site. She is always willing to help with whatever she can and is enjoying her home at Southern Event Planners!
